2018 Audiobook Challenge

2018 Audiobook Challenge

Hello, everyone! If you've been following me for a while here or on Twitter, you'll know I've become a huge fan of Audiobooks over the past few years. As I have little time to read throughout the school year, listening to books while I walk or drive to places, or while I clean or cook has saved both me and my TBR's fate. Since I listened to Thirteen Reasons Why back in 2015, audiobooks have smoothly become by far my main source of literature, and I honestly cannot imagine my life without them anymore. Even if I am reading a physical copy of a book, I always like having my audiobook companion with me.

Do it for the fun!

Hello everybody! Cova here. It has been so long since I last wrote a blogpost, that this time I will not even apologise. Instead, I will explain to you all the reason behind this, which is something I have been meaning to do for quite a while now.

I started this blog three years ago now. Wonderful Literature has had its ups and downs like every other blog out there, mainly because (I admit right front) I am not a constant blogger. I have tried so many times to post content in a regular manner, I dare say I even succeeded for a while, with a weekly review and another weekly post on some book-related topic. However, every time I thought I had gotten it, for some reason or another I stopped doing it. I have had so many hiatuses over the years that my blog should be considered "a hiatus with a blog" rather than a blog with hiatuses 😂 (sorry for the bad joke! hehe). And this did affect how I felt about blogging in general.

The thing is, the main cause of my not being constant is that I study a hard degree. Medicine is something that really takes up time of my life. In the school year, I barely have time for myself. I don't have time for reading the way I like reading -which is long hours in bed until I can no longer hold my eyes open (in a way, this is not such a bad thing, as it is one of the reasons why I love audiobooks so much!), let alone reading enough to have quality literary content to write about in a blogpost. This takes away all the joy of writing about something you are passionate about.

When you blog with the mindset that you have to post something every single week, blogging becomes more of a chore than a hobby, and as such, it loses part of the joy it used to bring you when you did it just because you liked doing it. This is what happened to me so many times before, and it is something that I believe many bloggers go through.

However, all of that is over. I recently have come to the conclusion that I started doing this for fun, and that is the way I should continue to do it. From now on, I will post whenever I feel like it, and I will write about whatever I feel like writing - it doesn't matter that I was meant to write a book review if I feel like writing a Top 5 Wednesday post! From this moment onwards, I will make myself freer to do as I please, which is the way it should have always been. The followers this blog gets, the views my blogposts receive, none of that is as important as me doing something for myself, just for the joy of it. And I make a call to every blogger out there who is going through something similar: do it for the fun!

If you've made it this far in the post, thank you, and I'm sorry about all this rambling - I felt I had to get it out! I'll write you soon with something I feel like sharing :)

Happy reading!
