Cova Reviews | Me Before You, by Jojo Moyes

Hello there! Today's post will be a review of the super famous novel Me Before You, by Jojo Moyes. It is a contemporary romance about family, love and overcoming hard situations.

"Lou Clark knows lots of things. She knows how many footsteps there are between the bus stop and home. She knows she likes working in The Buttered Bun tea shop and she knows she might not love her boyfriend Patrick.

What Lou doesn't know is she's about to lose her job or that knowing what's coming is what keeps her sane.

Will Traynor knows his motorcycle accident took away his desire to live. He knows everything feels very small and rather joyless now and he knows exactly how he's going to put a stop to that.

What Will doesn't know is that Lou is about to burst into his world in a riot of colour. And neither of them knows they're going to change the other for all time." (Goodreads)

Hello everyone! Here I bring to you Arena Roja, the new young adult book by Gema Bonnín, a great young author who also happens to be my friend! But don't worry, my review won't be affected by it in any way =) As the book has so far been originally published in Spanish, that's the language I'm going to use for this post. As always, click the Translate button on the top, right sidebar if you need any help translating :)

Cova Reviews | Everything, Everything - Nicola Yoon

Hello, hello! I've been wanting to read this book since before I even knew what it was about. Yes -sometimes I do judge books by their cover OK...? Just take a moment to appreciate this beauty. Honestly. Who wouldn't just go the first book shop they find just to get this piece of art? :P

Everything, Everything is a young adult, contemporary, stand-alone novel written by Nicola Yoon. It is about an 18-year-old girl named Maddy who suffers from SCID or "bubble baby disease" - which basically means she is "allergic to the world" and so she can't leave the safety of her house, with its air filtres and constant check-ups. In fact, she hasn't done so in the past 17 years. One day, a new family comes to live next door. Through her window, she meets Olly, who keeps trying to make contact with her. And so they become online friends.

The Lake House, by Kate Morton

Well then, so this one is a different type of read from the ones I'm used to, but I certainly did enjoy it nonetheless :) The Lake House is a Historical Fiction, mystery novel set in England in different timesets between the 1910s and 2004.

"An abandoned house...
June 1933, and sixteen-year-old Alice Edevane is preparing for her family's Midsummer Eve party at their country home, Loeanneth. But by the time midnight strikes and fireworks light up the night skies, the Edevane family will have suffered a loss so great that they leave Loeanneth forever.

A missing child...
Seventy years later, after a particularly troubling case, Detective Sadie Sparrow retreats to her beloved grandfather's cottage in Cornwall. Once there, she stumbles upon an abandoned house, and learns the story of a baby boy who disappeared without a trace.

An unsolved mystery...
Meanwhile, in her elegant Hampstead home, the formidable Alice Edevane, now an old lady, leads a life as neatly plotted as the bestselling detective novels she writes. Until a young police detective starts asking questions about her family's past, seeking to resurrect the complex tangle of secrets Alice has spent her life trying to escape..." (Goodreads)
