More new books than my shelves can handle!

Hello, guys! I've been away for some time now due to exams period in uni. I forgot to write a blog post about it, although I did tweet it and kept updating my exams status 😅 They were hard and painful, but I got through them and I AM BACK! I've been quietly buying too many books lately, so I thought what better way to return strong than telling you guys what awesome new reads I've acquired :P I am calling it "Spring Bookhaul", though  really it's everything from the start of the year which I haven't shared in my blog yet hehe

Let's do this!

The following books are in no particular order. I just added them as I remembered. Hope you enjoy it! :D

Ronit and Jamil - Pamela L. Laskin

I am SO very excited to read this one. I found it looking for books to read for my Diverse Reads Challenge this year (which unfortunately is not going very well... 😡) and I fell in love with it. It is a retelling of Romeo and Juliette but set in the modern days in Palestine and Syria. It is in verse, and I cannot wait to read it. I got the physical copy, which is beautiful - so small! I should read it in the month of May, but I haven't even started the one for March, so you see how that's coming along hehe!

King's Cage (Red Queen #3) - Victoria Aveyard

This one is a book I was awaiting so badly! It is the third and final book to the Red Queen trilogy (I wrote a review of the first two books which you can find here and here). I preordered it and I got it in time but I haven't had the time to read it yet :( My TBR is so long, and my time so limited during the school year... But I will hopefully get to it this summer!

Vendetta (Blood for Blood #1) and Inferno (Blood for Blood #2) - Catherine Doyle

I first heard of this series over at Sasha's channel (A Book Utopia), and she spoke very highly of it, so I just had to give them a go. And I ended up loving them! The first (Vendetta) I listened to on audiobook, which I really enjoyed, but the second one is not yet available to listen :( so I got the ebook. It is a contemporary series about an apparently normal girl from a small town in the US who spends her summer working at her family's dinner with her best friend. At some point, five handsome guys come to live in a house that had been empty for years, but there is something weird about them (which I won't give away 😏). I ended up giving them 4 stars each. For some reason, I did not continue with the third one, but I do plan to get to it very soon. 

This Savage Song (Monsters of Verity #1) - Victoria Schwab

Honestly, I have to say I have no idea what this book is about. I just bought it because I'd heard a lot about it and the ebook was only 99 cts for sometime! I started following the author on Twitter and she is honestly lovely! I am eager to start this one, because I do remember I thought it was pretty cool when I bought it. The second book to the series is about to come out :)

El Laberinto de los Espíritus (El Cementerio de los Libros Olvidados) - Carlos Ruiz Zafón

This is Carloz Ruiz Zafon's latest novel, and I am EAGER to read it! My sister gave it to me in Christmas, but it's so long I haven't had the time to even think about starting it. It is the fourth and last book to the historical fiction series The Cemetery of Forgotten Books, which I absolutely adore. Carlos Ruiz Zafon is my favourite author ever. I've read all of his published works (except for a novella I didn't know existed until very recently), and I will certainly read this one at some point during the summer. This book will be published in English in 2018 under the translated title The Labyrinth of the Spirits. I'll keep you guys posted! :D

All the Bright Places - Jennifer Niven

All the Bright Places is a YA, contemporary read I added to my Diverse Reads Challenge TBR for the month of April. As I said before, I didn't even get to the month of March, but I will read this one soon!

Six of Crows (Six of Crows #1) - Leigh Bardugo

And, yes. This was the book I was supposed to read in March for the 2017 Diverse Reads Challenge! I am sure most of you will not only know but have read this book, and I know it's incredible that I neither have read it nor know what it is about 😂 I have to amend that really soon, though. 

Caraval (Caraval #1) - Stephanie Garber

This book I read on audiobook because I set a poll on Twitter for you guys to help me decide which book to listen to next! It is a YA, fantasy read about two sisters who want to escape their father's abuses and go to the magic game Caraval, which they'd longed to assist since they were little. But it turns out to be pretty different from what they thought it'd be. I ended up giving it 3.5 out of 5 stars (I'll write a review soon), but I don't plan on reading the next one anytime soon! 

The Animal Under the Fur - E.J. Mellow

This book I have no idea what it is about, and I know about it because for some reason I follow the author on Instagram. She's written other books before, which I haven't read. And I heard she published this new one which (from what I know) is not part of any series or anything, and so I thought it was a good one to try the author's style out :) 

Strange the Dreamer - Laini Taylor

Strange the Dreamer is a fantasy novel set in a made-up, medievalish world. It is the first book I read by Laini Taylor, and I am LOVING it. It is the book I am listening to right now, and oh dear. The writing in fantastic! You can follow me on Goodreads for updates ;)

The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle #2) - Maggie Stiefvater

And this one's the second to the fantasy series The Raven Cycle. I listened to the first one on audiobook and I LOVED it. I thought the writing was beautiful, and the narrator made it extra-special. I bought this book because (one) I really wanted to continue reading the series, and (two) I found out it was cheaper buying the ebook edition and then the audio companion and only the Audible, which was a great discovery! Do try and check for this if you're part of the audiobook world, because then you can also do the whisper-sync thing, with which you can read and then swap to listening whenver you like! I haven't done it yet, but when I do, I'll tell you guys how that goes :) Really looking forward to reading this one!

Two Boys Kissing - David Levithan

This one again I bought as part of my 2017 Diverse Reads Challenge - this time for the month of June. I recently received it in my mail, and it is much thinner than I thought. It is about two boys who enter a 32-hour kissing marathon. That's all I know and that is enough for making me want to read it! I've only even read Will Grayson, Will Grayson by David Levithan (co-written with John Green), and I thought David Levithan's style was unique, to say the least. 

Ramona Blue - Julie Murphy

And we have the more than polemic Ramona Blue! I first heard of it in a Twitter thread, but didn't give it much thought. Then I read another thread about it and I thought it too much of a coincidence, so I went to investigate on Goodreads. I found something strange - people were giving it either 5 or 1 stars. That caught my attention, so I went and pre-ordered it. I'll  hopefully be reading it very, very soon!

Always and Forever Lara Jean (To All the Boys I've Loved Before #3) - Jenny Han

And I have to add this one even though I don't technically have it yet! :0 It is the third and final book to the To All the Boys I've Loved Before trilogy, and I have it on pre-order since last year. It was supposed to come out in February, but it didn't. And then it didn't have a release date set until quite recently, which was in May. But something went wrong with Amazon and I still haven't got it! And I am (un)patiently waiting for it! I had to add it because I really want to have it! 😭 You can find my reviews for the first two books here and here :)

And that's it, though, honestly, I do think there are more books I've bought but I don't remember I did - which is too bad because then I won't remember I have them and I won't read them until I hear of them again and remember hehe :P Anyway, as you can see, I bought way too many books recently! And I don't regret a thing! 😏
